Lisa Faulkner at Sky Kids Café

To promote the launch of Sky Kids app, Sky gave youngsters the chance to step into the world of their favourite TV shows, meet their favourite characters and take part in a host of arts and craft activities within the Sky Kids Café.

Complete with three imaginative play areas for children, the cafe also featured a special menu designed by celebrity chef Lisa Faulkner, which was inspired by the storylines of a variety of children’s shows.

Event Health and Safety expert Symphotech was on site to oversee all aspects of safety during the two day build and remained on call throughout the whole event, ready to respond in case of any issues.

Will Hodgson comments: “We were thrilled to work alongside Sky to help ensure its Sky Kids Café came to life safely. Part of the service that we offer is to carry out all the necessary health and safety checks to ensure the venue meets industry regulations and make certain that fire safety procedures are being met. We visited the venue to scope out any risks, identify the fire escapes and looked at what licensing the event required. As this event was designed for children from 3 to 11 years old, we also needed to identify what protection procedures were needed for the children. We worked with the Children’s Services at Westminster City Council to write a suitable child protection policy, which was given to all members of staff before they could work at the venue.

“During the build I was on site to make sure everything being built was in line with the approved plans and that nothing else was being added which could change the way in which the items would behave under load. Following the build, I remained on call throughout the event to ensure it happened smoothly and safely.”
