Symphotech at goGIRL

Goldline Events called upon Symphotech to oversee health and safety at goGIRL Brighton & Hove, a new 5km run and beach party.

The inaugural goGIRL Brighton & Hove run saw female athletes take part in a 5km race which was set against the stunning backdrop of Hove seafront. Following the race, the runners were invited to a celebratory beach party for a night of entertainment, enabling them to savour the buzz and celebrate their achievements.

Following Symphotech’s appointment as safety consultants to Goldline Events, and building on the success of The Vitality Reading Half Marathon, the team was once again appointed to oversee health and safety, provide advice, contingency plans and project management before and during the race.

As well as ensuring the event had the correct licensing in place, Symphotech also created event safety plans and the team were on hand to undertake on-site monitoring throughout the event.

Symphotech’s Will Hodgson commented: “We were delighted to be tasked with overseeing health and safety at the inaugural goGIRL Brighton & Hove; a fantastic new event that hopes to inspire women and girls into running. With a race followed by a beach party, we were on hand to ensure organisers had the correct licenses in place, as well as creating a water-tight event safety plan to ensure the event was a huge success.”

Judith Manson, Goldline Events managing director says: “We were really excited to launch this event within my home town of Brighton & Hove. It was fantastic to see so many women take part in, and enjoy the event on 24th June and see friends and family come along to support their loved ones and enjoy the post race entertainment. We’ve worked with Symphotech on many previous events and having recently appointed them as our safety consultants, they were the obvious choice to help us launch this event into the sporting calendar.

“The knowledge and experience of the Symphotech team is hugely impressive and it’s always reassuring to have them on-site. The inaugural goGIRL (Brighton & Hove) was a great success and we’re looking forward to working alongside Will and the team in the future.”

Following the race, athletes were treated to an evening of entertainment which included fire shows, DJ sets and live music from Santana Sessions and Barulho.

Goldline Events are launching next year’s goGIRL Brighton & Hove on Friday 8th July 2016, and the event will take place on Friday 16th June 2017.
