Health and safety at Nato

2017 saw the opening of the new NATO headquarters, a 254,000 square metre building located on Belgium’s first airfield, and Symphotech was enlisted to oversee safety during the build, whilst ensuring delegate safety during the NATO Leaders Summit.

The Symphotech team worked with NATO safety and security to ensure safety for workers on the building site as well as overseeing safety during the NATO world leaders summit which was hosted by the King of the Belgians and attended by Prime Ministers and Heads of state. Symphotech ensured leaders and delegate safety and worked with TV and show production to ensure the correct timed delivery of the event and speeches.

The team was required to work with 29 different armed forces and call in the fly past of 40 different aircraft from eight member states, oversee a flag raising ceremony and the dedication of the Berlin Wall and Article 5 monuments (The Twin Towers), as well as a pause to remember the victims of the Manchester Arena bombings.
